On Summer Break...

Bible Study

Episcopal Church Education

Do you have questions about God, but you cannot find the answers?

Are you afraid of asking others?

In our Bible Study program, members read, reflect on and learn to interpret the Holy Scriptures (Old Testament and New Testament.) Together we learn that it is through the study of the Bible that we learn about God and ourselves.

Sundays from 9-9:45 a.m. Sept - May

Jr. Youth Group
Episcopal Church Education

We have fun learning about God, God's creation and our relationship with God is part of our commitment to God and the church. Our Jr. Youth Group uses a three-tiered program. Through this curriculum children from ages 5-11 learn:

1) lesson/reading for the day

2) activity that corresponds to that lesson

3) work/activity sheets that relate to the lesson

Jr. Youth Group is often patterned around the lessons for the upcoming Sunday, or major themes that are occurring both liturgically and secularly.  For instance, Thanksgiving, while a secular holiday is still observed in Jr. Youth Group since it often merges with all areas of life.  Our program attempts to be relevant not only to the liturgy but also to social and cultural themes as well.

Jr. Youth Group program meets at St. Paul's - downstairs on Wednesdays from 5:45 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. during the school months.

Who says that church is about long and boring sermons? Our current program focuses on the Nooma video series by Rob Bell which offers reflections on providence, fear, anger, love, and other theological ideas and themes. After youth watch the video they are asked a series of questions to encourage their own ability to reason through these complex ideas and themes.

Youth Group is for grades 6 - 12 and meets at St. Paul's on the third Sunday of the month at 6 p.m.

In addition, the youth group occasionally partners with other churches in the area for combined youth events in addition to participating in service projects and ministries in other areas of church life.
